Richard Martin is a New Zealand trained General Surgeon subspecialised in Melanoma/Cutaneous Oncology and Head/Neck surgery. Richard spent two and a half years at the Sydney Cancer Centre specialising in these fields. He is recognised as New Zealand's foremost Melanoma Surgical Oncologist and is highly respected as a key opinion maker in the field.
Richard's expertise also includes Head and Neck surgery, covering procedures involving the thyroid, parathyroid, parotid and nodal surgery. In 2007, he returned to New Zealand as a consultant surgeon at North Shore Hospital and is a founding director of the Melanoma Unit and The Specialists Takapuna.
Richard has published in numerous academic journals, with 43 publications to his credit and presents at national and international conferences. He actively engages in research and clinical trials, while also contributing as a Senior Lecturer at the University of Auckland, where he imparts his knowledge to the next generation of surgeons.

Dr. Katherine is a dedicated and compassionate New Zealand trained surgeon, with expertise in oncoplastic breast surgery, melanoma, and general surgery.
Katherine holds both a public consultant position at Te Whatu Ora, Waitemata, and serves as a founding member of TST in private practice. Her expertise encompasses the management of benign and malignant breast conditions, hereditary breast cancer, top surgery for transgender patients, and skin cancer surgery. Offering a comprehensive range of surgical options, she regularly performs partial and whole breast reconstruction for cancer patients, revision surgery, and prophylactic nipple-sparing mastectomy with immediate reconstruction for high-risk genetic patients. Furthermore, Dr. Katherine provides aesthetic breast surgery, revision breast surgery, and reconstruction for all types of skin cancer.
In 2011, Katherine obtained her FRACS, which led her to a prestigious surgical oncology fellowship at NSH, where she focused on melanoma under the guidance of Mr. Richard Martin. Subsequently, she pursued specialised clinical training in oncoplastic breast surgery at the esteemed Nottingham Breast Institute (UK) from 2013 to 2014. Her commitment to advancing medical knowledge is evident through her active contributions to research presented at international conferences and published in peer-reviewed scientific journals.
Since 2014, Dr. Katherine has played a pivotal role in the development of oncoplastic breast surgery on the North Shore. Her profound passion lies in breast cancer management, and she remains devoted to supporting patients throughout their journey to recovery, collaborating closely with the wider clinical team at TST.

Dr. Jason Robertson is a highly skilled New Zealand trained Bariatric, Upper Gastrointestinal, Laparoscopic, and General surgeon. He is a consultant surgeon at Te Whatu Ora Waitematā and practices in the private sector at TST, where he collaborates closely with his fellow founding directors.
Jason is the only surgeon in New Zealand offering the complete range of internationally recognised bariatric operations. He also pioneered the introduction of the SADI-S procedure to New Zealand. With a personalised approach, Jason ensures that patients are empowered to make informed choices and select the most suitable surgical option to achieve their weight loss goals.
Jason completed subspecialist training as accredited fellow of the esteemed Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand Gastric and Oesophageal Surgery Association (AANZGOSA) post-fellowship program. This comprehensive program entailed three additional years of dedicated, high-volume upper gastrointestinal and bariatric subspecialisation in both Australia and New Zealand. During this period, Jason worked alongside leading experts, acquiring extensive expertise in minimally invasive surgery and the surgical management of obesity, upper gastrointestinal cancer, and gastro-oesophageal reflux disease.
Apart from his clinical practice, Jason is dedicated to enhancing patient outcomes through active engagement in surgical research. His research interests focus on the management of weight regain after sleeve gastrectomy and complex antireflux surgery.
During his leisure time, he finds enjoyment in fly fishing and exploring the outdoors with his family.
